EduHack: Co-Creating educational experiences

mSchools EduHack is a large scale co-creative process for school teachers that connects, inspires and allows the educational community to develop innovative classroom experiences for all levels and subjects, integrating the use of digital technology.

Using design thinking methodology, EduHack promotes a new way of learning based on projects and real life challenges, preparing students for a future that requires digital, problem solving and communication skills.

EduHack 2nd edition: what’s new?

This second edition will have two parts:

  • EduHack’s launching session will be on 18 November and will take place in four different locations across Catalonia, seeking to foster the creation of collaborative educational communities. These locations are Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona, Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Lleida and Complex Educatiu, in Tarragona.
  • EduHack participants are also provided with access to a digital platform to develop their proposals and be able to test them in real educational contexts. The platform includes co-creation and design thinking tools, problem solving resources, real experiences, success cases, working spaces and mentors to support them across the process.

Teachers from all educational levels and curricular areas, teachers and students of master and bachelor degrees related to education, industry experts and professionals working in research centers can participate in EduHack.

EduHack and design thinking

Design Thinking is a user-centered and problem solving creative process that offers effective, viable and positive solutions based on observing and understanding users’ needs. Design Thinking is collaboration, positivism and experimentation.

Based on these principles, EduHack has designed a tailor-made methodology specific to the Catalan educational context and built around the student. The initiative offers the opportunity to design collaboratively educational proposals, that will be tested in schools across Catalonia.

EduHack and the Sustainable Development Goals

EduHack’s 2nd edition challenges are based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development. Participants are required to design educational proposals for classrooms, schools or wider communities based on one or more of these challenges.
